Our Story

A Temple Born of Faith

With the blessings of Lord Shiva, a Shivalayam is rising in our village of Marapaguntla — built for the people of our village and for all devotees who visit.

With the blessings of Lord Shiva, we are constructing a Shivalayam in our village, Marapaguntla. When the work is complete, the temple will enshrine the divine idols of Lord Shiva, Goddess Parvathi, and Lord Ganesha — three sacred forms watched over by the same family of the divine.

This temple is being built for the people of our village and for all devotees who visit. It will be a sacred place where everyone can pray, find peace, celebrate festivals, and pass on our traditions to future generations. It is meant to belong to no one person, but to the whole community and to every traveller who comes seeking the grace of Lord Shiva.

The Divine Presence

Three Sacred Forms

🕉

Lord Shiva

The Mahadeva, lord of the temple — the auspicious one to whom the Shivalayam is dedicated and whose blessing guides the work.

🌺

Goddess Parvathi

The divine mother and consort of Shiva — grace, strength, and devotion enshrined beside the lord.

🐘

Lord Ganesha

The remover of obstacles, worshipped first — blessing every prayer, festival, and new beginning at the temple.

The Shiva Mala & the Pilgrimage

Forty Days of Devotion

Every year, many devotees in our village wear the Shiva Mala twice. They observe the forty-day Deeksha with devotion and discipline — a period of prayer, restraint, and inner purification.

When the Deeksha is complete, they undertake the holy pilgrimage to Srisailam, carrying the Irumudi, and finish their vows after offering prayers to Lord Mallikarjuna Swamy. It is one of the most cherished spiritual journeys of our community.

Our Dream

The Spiritual Heart of the Journey

Our dream is for this Shivalayam to become a spiritual center where devotees can begin their Deeksha, gather for prayers, and receive the blessings of Lord Shiva before and after their pilgrimage to Srisailam — a true home for faith at every step of the path.
